Oh, I noted those. We need a better system for tracking these corrections so people can know what we've noted and what stage something is at. After failing to come up with a perfect solution I've just thought of a maybe-adequate one... I'll talk to the rest of the team tomorrow just to check I'm not crazy and if it makes sense I'll kick it off.
True! There is no *single* measurement for MRA - the car that is fastest to 90mph won't necessarily also be fastest to 120mph - so I took one of the possible measures of MRA and used that.
Also...can we get a guide to the the new “physics”? Now that all previous tunes are compromised (imagine the effort, money, and cars to upgrade all the high end cars, only to find out that tune is no longer valuable)...refund? One example: my 033 Audi S8 Plus just lost to a 303 S7 “better mid-range” (never would’ve happened b4 and the rumors about post update 033/699 vs 303/969 are true). Wonder how many cars have been, basically, downgraded.
Sure, I'll try to keep this brief! - I don't believe all previous tunes are compromised. If you do think a huge amount of money has gone down the drain you could try contact support to fix it, but I can't guarantee anything. - As I've noted before, the 'Race Info' tips are a good guide for beginners as to what's important, but in extremely close races that raise eyebrows of experienced players, they just aren't very accurate at calling out the main factor behind a loss. To be blunt, and in case it's not obvious already, when it says "mid-range acceleration"... it's sometimes wrong about that. I think in particular it doesn't call out lower weight as often as it should. - My understanding is that our latest correction to AI handling has revealed that in some cases where 699 used to beat 969 in a slalom, that was actually because the 969 car was using the extra engine power inefficiently - the same kind of reason that a 969 could sometimes lose to a 669. We've now reduced these inefficient driving situations, but at the cost of some tunes now performing differently. - Our slalom isn't as twisty as the name suggests. Especially from a standing start, 0-60 ends up being hugely important. Looking at the telemetry of how cars perform on it, it's not surprising to me that 969 wins so often. The newer forest slalom behaves more like you might expect, with cars forced down to low speeds and results heavily dependent on weight and handling.
Thanks for the reply on the Viper ACR and Durango SRT. Nice to hear you want to communicate better about the changes. Could you please consider to share what the plans are with these two cars?
About the 969/699 issue: Changing the dynamics is fine. However, making 969 win a lot more than 699 is not fair for players. Making the difference between the tunes smaller is fine and understandable, but please let the tunes win that won before on certain tracks. If you don't want to change this, then give players the opportunity to change their tunes. For example, tunes can be altered once a month, or players can pull a card that allows them to change a tune, or let them buy it with in-game cash at the price of the final fuse.
Hutch, please consider all opinions of the loyal players. I think/hope your goal is to make the games better and more fun. Probably the best measure of this is our opinions.
I'm not able to write a long text to explain why i'm so disappointed.
But, be sure the trust I put in the game is gone away by these changes (physics and cars tunes). No more invest on it, the way taken is too uncertain.
You have a goldmine with topdrives, don't transform it in stone quarries
True, this is the first mobile game I keep playing for months and join a forum for. Many of my friends have the same feeling and for them it’s the first mobile game they spend money on. These things make us reconsider if it’s still worth it...
The whole goal of the game is to optimise your garage. So by making these 699/969 changes, Hutch deliberately makes our garages worse!
Spending time and money on a game where the game developer works against the players isn’t worth it!
All but 1 of my maxed epics are 699. Seriously (why)? I don't see why I would ever spend another cent on this game now. If the intent was to get people to drop a whole lot of money to rebuild their garage i doubt it will have the intended effect. Essentially it's a couple grand I threw away. I could buy at least 4 LeMons cars for that much. I saw a nice cj5 right around that price the other day. I mean, seriously, telling us to contact support and *maybe* they'll help is a weaksauce copout and honestly completely unacceptable. I've seen games pulled from the play store for things like this. We need more than just a "whelp, you're most likely out of luck." I really want to win that 787b but instead of buying all of the CFs like I was planning to I will only buy a few with the gold I have laying around. I'm sure I'm not alone.

You're not alone. That official response was immoral imho.
Is any track except slalom changed for A/S cars? Lets be real here, 699 was broken for the high end of the garage, there was No point to ever make an A/S Car 969 apart from the Off roaders.
Which tracks do 969 now beat 699 among A/S cars? I’ll bet you 699 is still the best tune on most of these cars

You're right, actually. Before the pitchforks come out we should do some thorough testing I suppose. Now who has those 969 epics?

I’ve been keeping an eye on the obvious ones through the daily (furai, camaro, green porker, r500, S8) and can say that 699 is still the better tune overall. If I was offered the chance to change them all tomorrow I wouldn’t.
Ok, if slalom does indeed favour more power, then where the heck do we use a 699 tune? It has made one avenue of tuning a car irrelevant at the D or below rarity tiers.
The game will become stale of everyone soon realised that they only need to build out a car to 969, always.
But the response of Tims' that really makes my blood boil is saying that there are no guarantees that support can help us if we want a tune changed for us due to the change in game physics.
Us players have literally done nothing wrong. We learned the game and tuned our cars accordingly. Any physics engine change might be more realistic but will make certain cars obsolete and through no fault of our own.
We should be allowed to change the tunes of our cars, once. This should be official policy too, not, 'maybe'.
Camaro Z/28 Campaign, Tuned 969 is bad, it can only draw or lose to 699. Be gentle on the support request, if a 969 car is actually better at all in 699, request an exchange. But test before.
At Car Park, it's certain that the 699 wins the 969, plus a few circular steering tests as well. This is a matter of percent advantage between 969 and 699. This is individual in every car, lane, condition (rain, gravel, etc).

ok, so here are times for two of my handling-oriented epics that I actualy care about, both are tuned 699
lotus 2-11 s'charged 26:83 slalom standing (midlands 1-2) 25:56 slalom rolling (france 10-3) 20:93 g-force standing (midlands 5-2) 20:03 g-force rolling (west coast 6-3) 43:73 car park (atsugi 1-1) 43:16 indoor karting (atsugi 1-1)

these are the tracks I'd like them to win over their 969 versions (I can live with losing rolling slalom and maybe rolling g-force), so if anyone has them tuned 969 I'd appreciate times for comparison
Has anyone actually found an American Dream car that doesn’t underperform it’s stats? There are some really bad cars out there, and virtually no explanation why.
I’d love to know how MRA actually gets set, because the spanking below shows that power, torque, mass, drive type & body type are NOT what determines it. Only thing I can think of for this one is different gearboxes:

so 699 only wins on g-forces... and we can compare further, but I'd guess 699 loses circuits, hairpins, twisty roads since they're more speed oriented...

Those two cars have identical drivetrains. There is no reason the Charger should have lost, unless Hutch artificially inflated the 300's performance, because it's a prize car.

@HeissRod just the 77 points, but that’s still quite a margin. Visually it was a thrashing. SRT8 just stops accelerating at about 130. It gets whupped by the new c class corvette too, athough that does have more torque and lower mass.
77 points suggests that it's way behind and not just a narrow loss. That's just plain wrong. Post it in the incorrect race results thread or even the incorrect car stats.
