I received a 2 star Mercedes from a crate, I have dumped tons of resources and everything is maxed as can be without fusing, except for nitrous and engine, running the current pvp contest, I see 2 star cars with pp within a couple of my almost maxed out car. How is that possible?

I'd imagine others are also nearly max-upgraded too. Players were able to get a lot of cash and resources from the Ladder event, so I would expect the majority of players to be in a similar situation to yourself.
